Front-end Developer

Location: Cork, Ireland

WorkCompass is seeking an experienced Frontend Developer for a permanent role to help deliver the next major version of our award winning application.

WorkCompass was named one of the 50 Smartest Companies by Silicon Review magazine and one of the Top 20 HR Technology Providers by CIO Review. It is an alternative to the universally-hated annual performance review which destroys motivation, stifles creativity and actually reduces individual, group and business performance.

This role is ideal for a developer wishing to take the next step in their career, sidestep the corporate ladder and help influence a growing startup. We are looking for someone who is eager to shape and own a frontend app, not just maintain one!

Your background:

  • You have at least 4 years industry experience in frontend web development.
  • You have a good understanding of a modern JavaScript framework, ideally Ember.js.
  • You have experience turning UX designs into working, maintainable HTML and CSS.
  • You care about user experience and understand the importance of making a product a joy to use!
  • You have had some exposure to modern software engineering practices including test-driven development, continuous integration, and agile development.
  • You are the sort of person who fixes things when you see they are broken and are willing to mentor colleagues on best practices.
  • You communicate clearly, with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

The above description should be taken as a guide. If you believe that you have what it takes to help us build WorkCompass, then we want to talk to you!

We believe building a great team requires cultivating a culture of learning and we will look to do that in any way we can – be that paying for you to attend conferences, giving you space to work with interesting technologies or helping you contribute back to the development community.

Salary is up to €47,500. The successful candidate must have the legal right to work in Ireland (we unfortunately cannot sponsor visas).
